Eyebrow Extensions

Eyebrow extensions makes the brows appear fuller and thicker by applying individual hairs directly to the hairs of the brows and also the skin of the eyebrows. This treatment is simlair to the well known eyelash extensions, and works pretty much in the same way in terms of application. We are able to achieve length and thickness to the eyebrows and create a more fuller, filled look. This treatment is great if you have uneven, spare or gaps in your eyebrows. We can cover scars and give you hairs in places on your brows where it has never grown before! If a client has no eyebrows we are now able to build a brow using the extensions and design a whole eyebrow from scratch! There is a wide range of colour choice to match individual taste. We can add as little or as much as you desire to create the chosen look. This a fantastic treatment for clients to have all year round and is suitable for all, it honestly creates a wonderful transformation.

The eyebrow extensions process begin's with thoroughly cleansing the brow area to remove all oils from the treatment area, next we measure and create the desired look, marking the eyebrow outline to ensure symmetry. We can then tint or henna the brows to the chosen colour and shape. The eyebrow extensions are then added individually.

Maintenance is required to keep the brows in perfect condition. This is needed around every 2 to 3 weeks depending on the application required and aftercare. The life cycle of the eyebrow hair is approximately two to four weeks. How long the extensions last depends on your life cycle and your own brow hairs. Other factors such as general care and skin type also play a role in this. Its always best to cleanse around the brow area and leave the extensions alone. All aftercare will be discussed during consultation and aftercare leaflet will be given. You should have at least 50% of hairs remaining when coming for a top up.

It's very important that the eyebrow extensions are removed professionally and not pulled to picked off.

Understanding the hair growth circle
Every hair on your body follows a growth cycle and will grow to a specific length. Its important to understand the cycle when it comes to eyebrow extensions as each individual hair is in a different growth stage.
All hairs follow a three-phase cycle.

Anagen (Growth) Phase
The anagen phase is also called the growth phase. This is the phase when hairs are actively growing, and it last between 30 and 45 days.
Only about 40 percent to 15 percent of the hairs are in the anagen phase at any one time. Each grow to a specific length and then stop.

Catagen (Transition) Phase
The catagen phase is also known as the transition phase. During this phase, the hair stops growing and the hair follicle shrinks. If a hair falls out or is plucked out during this phase, it won't grow back right away because the follicle needs to complete the catagen phase before it can move on to the next one. This phase lasts between two and three weeks.

Telogen (Resting) Phase
The telogen phase is also referred to as the resting phase. This phase can last more than 100 days before the hair falls out and a new one begins to grow. Because each individual hair is in its own phase of the growing cycle, it's normal for a few hairs to fall out most days. It typically takes between four and eight weeks to fully replace an eyebrow hair.
